Blue Lotus Review now accepts submissions year round at bluelotusreview.submishmash.com. If you've already submitted via the submissions e-mail we will still read those piece, however as of the release of this new issue (April 2011) we will only be taking fiction, poetry, art and music via bluelotusreview.submishmash.com.

We will make every effort to respond within eight weeks. We publish 4 issues a year and in an effort to make your contribution stand out, it will be one of few instead of one of many. Which is our way of saying that space is limited, so send us your best work. Our tastes are "literary eclectic" but we ask that you not send anything that is blantantly offensive. Good art isn't about shock value. So, wow us, but don't make us cringe.

how to submit

1. All submissions must be sent to bluelotusreview.submishmash.com. Please include your name and the name of the piece in the subject line.

2. Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please let us know asap if your piece is accepted elsewhere. We don't want to fall in love only to have our hearts broken.

3. Send original, unpublished material only.

4. The editors will make every attempt to respond to work in eight weeks. We work hard to stay within this time limit, so please refrain from submitting again if you have not heard back from us.

multimedia: film

At this time, due to hosting constraints, video must be uploaded to Youtube and can be submitted by e-mailing a link to submissions@bluelotusreview.com. Artist must provide his/her name, title of work, brief description and date of production, with which the work will be credited.

In general...

Contributors retain all rights to their work. We request credit be given to Blue Lotus Review in the event that your work is reprinted and was first published here. You may use it later in your own collection, but we'd love a mention for recognizing your greatness.

By submitting literature, art, music and/or video to BlueLotusReview.com, the writer or artist gives Blue Lotus Review license to reproduce submitted literature, art, music and/or video on the above-mentioned website. The editor of Blue Lotus Review retains the right to decide how and which submissions are reproduced. Blue Lotus Review and its editor shall be held harmless and not be held liable for copyright infringements on the part of writers and artists.

Along with your literature, art and/or multimedia submission, please send a small headshot (photo) of yourself and a 300 word (max.) autobiography for your profile page. Also include any contact information you wish to have posted on BlueLotusReview.com so that the fan mail can reach you without complications.
